Start-up business competition

I have once again been involved in organising a start-up business competition to be held at the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham.

The Conservative Party has agreed to give space for 12 new start-up businesses from across the UK to present themselves at its annual conference in Birmingham this October, as part of a special ‘Start-up Hub’ space that is being created in the trade stand exhibition area at the conference centre. This Start-up Hub has also been generously supported by Fujitsu, and follows the successful launch of the Start-up Hub at the Manchester Conservative Party conference in 2011.

A national competition with the support of the Prime Minister is underway to find the businesses or budding entrepreneurs who will be asked to take part and the entries will be judged by a panel of business leaders.

The Start-up Hub will give these entrepreneurs a tremendous opportunity to market their products to thousands of delegates, the media and business leaders from the across the UK. The competition is ideally for businesses from a range of different sectors, from the creative and digital, to the retail and practical. The 2011 Start-up Hub included companies working in catering, brand marketing, printing, fashion and the creation of new materials for heat transfer.

The application period will soon be closing so don't miss out if you are interested in applying. The details can be found on the online at
